“ A sad story with a happy ending for my mother, our family and two corneal recipients.”

My mother was a registered nurse and also a registered organ donor. When she was diagnosed with a malignancy, she found out that she could no longer be a part of the organ donor registry. Later, she was able to donate her corneas at the time of her death. A sad story with a happy ending for my mother, our family and two corneal recipients.
