Minimally Invasive Surgery
We specialize in minimally invasive surgery (and you)
A woman’s reproductive system is complex and often times women find themselves in need of surgery for any number of gynecological issues. At West Jefferson Medical Center Women’s Health, we offer minimally-invasive surgery options because it helps you recover faster and reduces the amount of downtime, unlike traditional surgery. As a woman, you take on many roles, so we’re focused on determining the right procedure to quickly get you back to things you love to do and do best.
As experts in laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, robotic surgery and in-office procedures such as endometrial ablation – we treat patients who may be suffering from vaginal prolapses, sexual dysfunction or urinary incontinence. During minimally-invasive surgeries, several small incisions are made in the skin and specialized tools are passed through those incisions that allow our surgeons to perform any necessary surgical procedures.
There are many advantages to choosing minimally-invasive surgery, including:
- Lower risk of excessive bleeding and infection
- Reduced scar tissue
- Less pain after surgery
- Shorter hospital stay
- Faster recovery time
- Potentially lower costs
Although minimally-invasive surgery is safer than traditional surgery, with all surgeries there are risks. Talk with our experienced surgeons about the risks affiliated with your procedure. We will work together with you to ensure that you have a complete understanding of the surgical options available to you.
