The Family Birth Place offers resources and classes to help you learn about this stage of life and to make sure you're prepared for your bundle of joy.

Maternal Fetal Medicine
For our high-risk pregnancies that require extra-special care, our Maternal Fetal Medicine team is here to partner with you to create a individualized care plan that's best for you and your baby.

- Regular department hours: Mon - Fri 7 AM - 11 PM; Sat 8 AM - 6:30 PM
- Call coverage on weeknights: 11 PM - 7 AM
- Call coverage on weekends: 6:30 PM Saturday night until Monday at 7 AM
Labor and Birth is one of the prenatal classes offered by The Family Birth Place. This class is designed to help expectant parents understand the process of labor and birth. Class also includes information on pain management, C-section births and common labor and delivery procedures. Information on the changes you will experience after childbirth is also included. All expectant mothers and their spouses or partners are encouraged to attend this free class. There is also a tour of the Family Birth Place in Labor and Delivery class.
Prepared Childbirth (Lamaze) class is a special class designed for expectant parents who want to take a more active role in labor and birth. This class is designed to teach the special exercises, breathing patterns and relaxation techniques that can help the expectant woman be more comfortable during labor and delivery. Prepared Childbirth classes also discuss epidural anesthesia or analgesia (pain medications) that can be used in addition to prepared childbirth techniques to help the pregnant woman be more comfortable during labor and delivery. Tour included in Lamaze as well.
