The Frank C. Di Vincenti, MD Community Leadership Award was created by the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation to recognize annually an individual for his or her excellence in leadership, volunteerism, dedicated community engagement, and exemplary service to West Jefferson Medical Center (West Jefferson).

In March 2019 Dr. Di Vincenti was the first recipient of the prestigious award to be presented in his name annually.

Nominees for the Frank C. Di Vincenti, MD Community Leadership Award must demonstrate the highest levels of leadership and professionalism in their chosen field and have a proven track record of community engagement through volunteerism be it in emergency situations, membership in service organizations that support the West Bank, or mentorship. Nominees must be individuals who provide service to West Jefferson either as employees or business associates and who provide direct health care with a minimum of five years of service.

About Dr. Di Vincenti

A native of New Orleans, Dr. Di Vincenti received his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in 1962. He completed his surgical internship and residencies with LSU at Charity Hospital New Orleans, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Di Vincenti was a major in the Army Medical Corps, where he was appointed both Chief of the Clinical Division of the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research and Chief of Burn Study Research.

Decorated with the Army Commendation Medal and other awards for outstanding performance, Dr. Di Vincenti’s began his practice on the West Bank allowing him to serve on the West Jefferson Medical Center Medical Staff. During his tenure at West Jefferson Medical Center, Dr. Di Vincenti served as Chief of Surgery and a former Chief of Staff.

Since 1989, Dr. Di Vincenti has served on the West Jefferson hospital board of directors. He remains involved by dedicating his time to serve on the board of managers, at West Jefferson and LCMC Health Board of Trustees.
