Honoring Frank C. Di Vincenti, MD

With the inaugural Frank C. Di Vincenti, MD Community Leadership Award.

A native of New Orleans, Dr. Di Vincenti received his medical degree from L.S.U. School of Medicine in 1962. He completed his surgical internship and residencies with L.S.U. at Charity Hospital New Orleans, where he also served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Di Vincenti was a major in the Army Medical Corps, where he was appointed both Chief of the Clinical Division of the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research and Chief of Burn Study Research.

Decorated with the Army Commendation Medal and other awards for outstanding performance, Dr. Di Vincenti’s began his practice on the West Bank allowing him to serve on the West Jefferson Medical Center Medical Staff. During his tenure at West Jefferson Medical Center, Dr. Di Vincenti served as Chief of Surgery and a former Chief of Staff.

Since 1989, Dr. Di Vincenti has served on the West Jefferson hospital board of directors. He remains involved by dedicating his time to serve on the board of managers, at West Jefferson Medical Center and LCMC Health Board of Trustees.

Proceeds from the benefit will help the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation increase the Friends of West Jeff Fund established to help support patient-centered care at WJMC. WJMC serves patients and families across the region including Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Charles parishes and beyond.
