“Happy Baby on the Block” Seminar

Babies don’t come with instructions… Learn how to have the happiest baby on your block!

Based on Dr. Harvey Karp’s breakthrough ideas, the parent educators at Children’s Hospital’s Parenting Center will teach pregnant couples, new parents and caregivers calming techniques proven to quickly calm crying and boost infant sleep.

Come learn how to turn on a baby’s “calming reflex” using five simple steps: the “5 S’s” - swaddle, sway, side/stomach holding and suck. The class is appropriate for expecting parents as well as those with babies under 3 months.

This class is FREE, but registration is required.

  • ABC’s of Breastfeeding

Difficulty breastfeeding is very common. We have seen many mothers become distraught when they have difficulty breastfeeding, but this is nothing to be ashamed of. Every baby is different and not all of them will have an easy time figuring out how to latch. It is not a statement about you and your child; it’s just something you can both learn together. Sign up for our breastfeeding class for help from experienced lactation consultants.

  • FREE Weight Loss Surgery Seminar

The Center for Surgical Weight Loss (CSWL) at West Jefferson Medical Center conducts regularly scheduled seminars on the first Thursday of every month with Dr. David Treen at 6 PM and the third Tuesday of every month with Dr. Peter Lundberg at 6 PM. During these free seminars, we review the entire bariatric surgery program. Prospective patients are encouraged to register for this seminar as an initial step in their bariatric surgery journey. Spouses or other family members interested in assisting and supporting the patient in the process are also welcome.

    Registration Info:

Registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited. Reserve your place at an upcoming seminar by calling our office at 504.349.6860 or by clicking the button below for the sign-up form.
