In an effort to help support institutions that provide outstanding care to the communities they serve, Coca-Cola has graciously donated $30,000 to the East Jefferson General Hospital Foundation this past week.

“Individual donations and corporate support directly impact the healthcare that we provide to this community,” said Lucy King of the EJGH Foundation. “We are so grateful to Coca-Cola for their donation to our Foundation which can be seen in the form of groundbreaking new technology, improved healing environments, and patient-centered care initiatives. Coke’s philanthropic investment in local healthcare helps to create thriving healthy communities for all who live and work here.”

Along with the monetary gift, Coca-Cola also donated a painting that now hangs on the fourth floor in the Woman and Newborn Department, part of the corporation’s Women’s Link project. The initiative was started in order to empower women through community projects.

“Our focus is on the local communities and we recognize that East Jefferson is a big part of that,” added Paula Kelly, Key Accounts Manager for Coca-Cola. “This was a way for us to work in our own back yard and give to a local and valued partner. We’re just very happy to be a part of the East Jefferson family.”

Representatives from both the EJGH Foundation and Coca-Cola were on hand for the check presentation, which took place in front of the contributed painting.

The Foundation has supported important programs and initiatives such as the Infusion Center, EJGH Wellness Center, Pastoral and Palliative Care, Healthy Lifestyles community education programs, continuing education for nurses, and the CARE Channel. The Foundation has also played a pivotal role in ensuring that EJGH has state-of-the-art equipment for you to better serve your patients.
