Nursing Education
The Education Department at WJMC offers a wide range of educational opportunities to fit your needs, such as ACLS,
PALS, NRP, TNCC, LPN IV Therapy certifications and more. The Education Department is committed to meeting the
educational needs of nurses, nursing students, and others in the healthcare industry. Our classes are delivered
by Nurses who have a combined experience of over 100 years.
We can tailor fit student nursing courses by offering evening and weekend instruction as needed. Although every
nursing student will not seek job opportunities at WJMC we would like to take part in the education of students
to enhance their knowledge and improve the nursing profession as a whole. We would love to have the opportunity
to assist nursing instructors on topics such as mock patient codes. Please feel free to contact us to set up your
mock code today.
When new graduates are hired at WJMC, the education department provides extensive training during orientation and
reenactment scenarios on Charlie, our patient simulator. Following orientation, the new hire is then matched with a
preceptor on the unit. Competencies are demonstrated, and the preceptor continues 1:1 individualized training until
the nurse feels confident in their clinical and time management skills to care for their assigned patients.
