Rehab Center

Inpatient rehabilitation services at West Jefferson Medical Center are provided to adult and adult geriatric patients with neurological and other medical conditions of recent onset or regression and who have experienced a loss of function in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, or communication. This program serves persons who are 18 years or older. All other referred patients will be considered on a case by case basis to determine appropriateness of the unit to meet their needs. The Inpatient Rehab Center is located on the 4th floor of West Jefferson Medical Center.

Our program is a CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited Brain Injury Program, Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, and Stroke Specialty Program. Our program provides integrated and coordinated therapeutic services to each patient served. The patient must be capable of participating in and benefitting from the intensive, interdisciplinary rehabilitation program offering a minimum of 3 hours of therapy per day, five days per week.

A minimum staff complement includes a Medical Director, Rehabilitation Nurses, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Worker/ Case Manager, Speech-Language Pathology, and Activities Coordinator. Ancillary services are provided, including, but not limited to, Medical Nutritional Therapy/ Dietary Services, Pharmaceutical Services, Respiratory Therapy, Diagnostic Radiology, Dental Services, Pathology, Laboratory Services, Spiritual Care, Prosthetics, and Orthotics.

Diagnoses of persons served include, but are not limited to, those who have experienced any of the following: Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA), Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic/ Non-Traumatic Brain Injury, Amputation, Multiple Trauma, Hip Fracture or Joint Replacement, Burns, or other progressive neurological syndromes such as Guillan- Barre, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

A referral from a physician is required. The patient must be screened and approved for admission via a pre-admission screening process.
